Get ticketsWildfur is an eco-feminist film for all ages. Finnea Wildfur is a Sasquatch whose forest home is being harmed by Bill Ding, a villain with a house for a head.
Bill Ding is sucking all the moisture out of the forest to pump up the clouds in his real estate development Comfort Condo City.
His factory is run by enslaved forest animals, where they make all kinds of products, as well as Comfort Screens,™ highly addictive furry phones.
Finnea teams up with other animals to take down Bill Ding and restore balance and help re-connect the people with nature.
Violet Crabtree is a mixed media artist and filmmaker. Her work includes costumes, comic books, storytelling, performance, painting, sculpture and stop motion animation. Wildfur, her first feature film, has been over six years in production. The concept start to finish is closer to a decade. Violet draws from her local area of coastal northern California for inspiration. The ocean, the bay, marshes and forest are her biggest creative influences. Her work is whimsical and surreal, with a handmade do-it-yourself aesthetic. Violet enjoys imagining a post-capitalist, matriarchal world where wilderness is more necessary than wealth, and real life is valued more than a virtual one lived on screens. She is aware of the irony that her work requires looking at a screen, and hopes we can all laugh at the nature of being a post-modern human in the 21st century.
